ROLE
Product Designer & Developer
STACK

STATUS
Waitlist (iOS & Android)
Daymarker is a habit-tracking app built around a simple idea: your habit data belongs on your device, not in someone else’s cloud by default. It pairs streaks, statistics, and an awards system with a local-first architecture that keeps every feature working offline.
The Problem
Most habit trackers push users onto an account and a cloud sync from the first launch, tying a simple daily-checklist app to a server dependency, a privacy trade-off, and a subscription funnel it doesn’t need. People just want to mark a habit done and see their streak hold — without handing that data to a backend to do it.
Approach
- Designed and built the app in Flutter, with a local-first architecture using Hive for on-device storage so the entire app works fully offline, with cloud sync as an optional add-on rather than a requirement.
- Built a streak system that tracks current and longest streaks per habit, backed by week/month/year statistics, a 12-week activity heatmap, and completion-rate charts.
- Designed a 17-badge awards system across four categories — Streaks, Habits Created, Total Completions, and Perfect Days — to give consistent, low-pressure positive feedback instead of guilt-driven streak anxiety.
- Added a built-in focus timer for timed habits, a color-coded month calendar view, optional reminders, and full light/dark theme support matching the system.
Outcome
Daymarker is in its pre-launch waitlist phase for iOS and Android, with the core local-first experience — habit tracking, statistics, calendar, and awards — built and working fully offline ahead of launch.
